About World Cup 2026

The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July 2026. For the first time, 48 teams take part instead of the traditional 32, organised into 12 groups of four in the group stage. The top two teams from each group, plus the eight best third-placed sides, advance to a 32-team knockout round. Matches are split across 16 venues in 16 host cities, with the final taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The group stage runs from 11 to 27 June, with up to four matches per day spread across North American time zones. The round of 32 begins on 29 June, followed by the round of 16 (4–7 July), quarter-finals (10–11 July), semi-finals (14–15 July), and the third-place play-off and final on 18–19 July.

The Events tab lists every key moment in chronological order: goals (including the scorer and assist provider), yellow and red cards, substitutions, and any VAR reviews. The Stats tab updates continuously with possession percentage, shots on and off target, corners, offsides, and fouls.
